"I have always been fascinated by foreign product labels and advertisement characters.

The less you know about a place the more you can create it in your mind.

They were always like clues to me to an exotic mystery, in a land where nothing is familiar."

Similar to the Ad Land series of paintings, these paintings distinguish themselves by being designed and painted as a distinct group.

These paintings were done through some of the hottest months of 2001.

Secret:  At one time Rory has smoked every brand of clove cigarettes.
